1Cover has a down-to-earth and open culture, with leaders willing to help you develop. The Travel Claims Centre is core to our business and we are looking for people to join our newly established Sydney based team. We are a vibrant, fast-paced and friendly environment and we are looking for a number of Travel Claims Consultants to join our team.

 To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Experience managing inbound and outbound calls in general insurance, ideally travel insurance or in a broader financial services industry;
  • Experience managing customer enquiries related to Claims by phone, email and other online tools;
  • Resilience operating in a high volume and occasionally high pressure environment, managing claims of various size and complexity up to $10,000 AUD/NZD;
  • Experience assessing and processing new claims and managing existing claims including settlement negotiations and clear decision making;
  • Pride and ability in delighting customers by providing a legendary experience and delivering timely and efficient solutions;
  • Resolution focus when processing new claims, managing existing claims including settlement negotiations, clear decision making, and consideration of customer specific situations;
  • An ability to translate knowledge of travel insurance policies and products to determine coverage, review information and resolve claims;
  • An ability to provide timely updates to stakeholders including customers, intermediaries on claim progress;
  • Excellent telephone and communication skills;
  • A willingness to embrace new technologies and a commitment to professional growth and ongoing skills development;
  • Self-motivated and proactive working style to resolve customer issues and to deliver above and beyond expectations;
  • A strong work ethic, taking pride in every call and in your attention to detail;
  • Natural motivation to deliver results and improve your performance;
  • Have a strong understanding of claim assessment rules, regulatory and code requirements and navigating claims accordingly, and
  • A willingness to be flexible in relation to working hours
